Special Episode

Special Episode is a DLC purchasable episode of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It was announced in the February 13, 2019 Direct and is set to release on March 14, 2019. This episode was advertised to include five new courses, and eighteen new challenges in existing courses.

While not guaranteed to be true for all levels, In this episode Captain Toad seeks Golden Crowns, rather than Power Stars and Power Moons as in the previous episodes. Playing the game in the "Adventure for Two" Co-op mode allows to play as Captain Toad and Toadette at the same time. This episode can be unlocked for play once the DLC was purchased before Episode 2, Episode 3 or Bonus Episode.

Levels

The only named level in the episode currently known is Shifty Shrine, which was released the day the DLC was revealed and available for purchase. It's worth noting that the player cannot search for Pixel Toad in this one level after beating it like the ones in Episodes 1-3. It is unknown whether Pixel Toad will be available in the full release of Special Episode.
