Pixel Toad is Toad in 8-bit form. He appears in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker when the player uses their Toad amiibo to play hide and seek. When activated, the player must locate Pixel Toad hidden somewhere in a stage. Once caught, a stamp of Pixel Toad will be marked on the level that was played.

Although Pixel Toad himself does not appear in Super Mario Maker, the Toad costume heavily resembles him.
