The level is designed as an onslaught of enemies attacking Mario and Yoshi. Once the duo made it past the enemies, they encountered a split in the path. It did not matter which path they took, since both led to the same road. At the end of Mushroom Land, Mario and Yoshi encountered [[Ludwig von Koopa]] in a mechanical robot. After defeating Ludwig Von Koopa, the duo continued on to [[Pipe Island]].
