Official artwork of a red Mini Paint Star from Paper Mario: Color Splash
First appearance Paper Mario: Color Splash (2016)

Mini Paint Stars are the goal for every level in Paper Mario: Color Splash. Every level has at least one, but some levels have more, serving as alternate exits. Their larger counterpart are the Big Paint Stars, which are found after every Koopaling boss fight, excluding Roy Koopa.

When obtained, they repaint a new area in the world map and unlock a new level. They resemble the Comet Pieces from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, since both are the goals for their respective games, restore areas, and after getting one of them Mario teleports into an area where coins are falling constantly.

One of them, in Sacred Forest, is scattered into five parts, which need to be gathered and brought together.
